We are thankful to Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) to give us Award for that. EEPC awarded a Trophy in 2001 to us for our Continuous Export Excellence bagging EEPC Award continuously for past 3 years. We believe in Quantity with World Class Quality Product
Hindustan Impex is owned and managed wholly by Mandawewala Family, a family who migrated from Rajasthan to Mumbai in search of work and then to Jamnagar . It was started by Shri Rameshji, a B.Com graduate from Sydnam College , Mumbai and also the eldest family member. In the early years of 1960's with a very small amount of capital, He had taken land on rent and employed appx 20 people. In the early years many different types of Brass items were manufactured. Slowly as the time passed production also increased due to increase in demand for our products and so Shri Kailashji (2nd eldest), B.Com from Bombay University , joined in 1966. After joining Kailashji started touring a lot, almost every month, to study the market as well as getting the orders. After a year or so we started specializing in manufacturing different types of Tire Tube Valves. Due to the increase in demand we were facing space problem and so decided to buy our own property and so we did it.
In the beginning, we used to make around 50000 sets of Valves in a month with a labour force of 50 peoples. As the time passed we started growing rapidly and so Shri Girdharilalji (3rd eldest), B.Sc from BIT, Ranchi , also joined (around in 1969). He and Kailashji used to look after the technical i.e. production side and Rameshji used to look after the Administrative side. Since the business of Bicycle Tube Valve (BTV) was growing rapidly we decided to specialize in BTV. As the manufacturing of BTV was fully labour oriented we bought 10000 sq.ft of land, our current premises i.e. Plot No. B-7 in M.P. Shah Industrial Estate. Finally, Shri Kamalji (youngest) also shifted from Bombay to Jamnagar and joined us. Once all the four brothers were fully involved in the business each one started specializing in one or the other field. Rameshji shifted back to Bombay and took charge of our Head Office at Kalbadevi. Kailashji started looking after the sales and manufacturing, Girdhariji took charge of the Admini strative department and Kamalji also used to look after the quality control. Since then our work was very well organized which lead us to timely delivery of material as well as payment.
In 1983 the Partnership firm was dissolved and Arun Udyog was taken over by Arun Impex Pvt. Ltd. Of which the directors are the four partners of Arun Udyog. As the time passed our production increased to 50000 set per day and so we started capturing the export market. The promoters of Arun Udyog started a partnership firm named Arun Exports of which the partners were sons (namely Arun, Sushil, Vishal & Vivek) of each of the four brothers. In short we can say that Arun Exports was also formed & promoted by these directors.
After starting Arun Exports, the company as a whole was spread over 50000 sq.feet with a labour force of 300 & manufacturing capacity of 3 Lac sets per day. Our Export sales also went up and one fine day in 1994 we got a letter from Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) mentioning that we were awarded for highest exports of BTV and the same position is continued till date and recently we were also honored by a trophy for holding continual position for highest exports of BTV.
In 1995 the company thought of diversify their business and so decided to install a Wind Turbine Generator for producing Electricity. In 1996 one 320 KW WTG was installed in Gujarat at village Bhogat near Porbander. The Machine is running successfully till date and is producing almost 3.5 - 4.0 lac units a year.
Both the companies were taken to such a height that in these past years they became the largest manufacturers and exporters of India . Due to rising demand of quality material the company decided to upgrade the technology and so a high tech Die Cast Machine was imported in 2002.
To go further the company decided to go for a Quality Management System and so it approached Quality Certification Bureau (QCB), Canada for ISO 9001:2000 certification, which they issued us after conducting the audit in 2002. As Arun Exports was mainly into exports we applied for 100% EOU registration in the name of Hindustan Impex in 2003 partners of which are Arun, Sushil, Vishal & Vivek which became operational this year in April 2004.
After successful commencing of Hindustan Impex in 200, there was a need of one more Die Cast Machine with a bigger capacity and so it was ordered.
As you could see that there was no further progress in the field of Electricity generation, the company thought of going for one more Wind Turbine Generator with a bigger capacity and so company short listed some good WTG suppliers and among them they finalized the deal with Suzlon Energy Ltd., Pune.
With this we would end (for time being) mentioning the achievements of Arun Udyog.
